Also on the 2012 St Kilda Festival shuttle was this Volgren bodied 1998 Scania L113CRL, 822 (2513AO). This bus has the ubiquitous curved screen style bodywork, making the vehicles look very like Wright bodied buses of similar vintage in the UK - and like the ACTION Dennis Darts in Canberra. In a similar way to which Wright incorporated a W into the front grill, Volgen used a V shape. The bus was amongst the last Volgren bodied buses to be delivered to Ventura for around ten years. |
Back in April 2001 the same bus is seen in Box Hill Bus Station numbered 13 with the old style fleetname. |
Easter is a regular disruption to St Kilda Road tram routes - and there are lots of them: 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 and 72. So while work is done on the track a fleet of tram replacement bus services shuttle passengers around the blockage and temporary points bounce city bound trams across the tracks, In April 2019 Volgren CR221L bodied Scania L113CRL 1157 (2539AO) meets Yarra Trams Z3 class 192. Whereas the tram, built in 1982 was still in service in 2023 the 1997 bus, already relegated to the rail replacement fleet, was withdrawn in 2020.
