Tram 22 approaches the terminus of route 8 beyond Toorak Village in January 2013. The points to switch tracks can be seen in front of the tram. The stop has since been replaced by a new low floor accessible platform in the centre of the road. Previously passengers had to wait on the footpath and cross to the tram waiting in the middle of the road. Traffic lights enable passengers to more safely reach the tram stand now.

At St Kilda Junction tram stop in November 2014 are Z3 183 heading into the city and Z1 on the 16 heading for Kew. The shot gives the opportunity to spot the most obvious difference between the Z1 and Z3 classes with the handlamp treatment.

What seems to be an annual ritual at Easter time is digging up a section of track along St Kilda Road. In 2015 it was the turn of the Commercial Road junction. Shuttle buses from Ventura and Kastoria linked the Domain interchange with eastbound trams near the High Street junction. A temporary set of points was installed, rising above the road surface to allow trams to shunt and return on the opposite track. Here 88 having arrived from Kew switches tracks to head back the other way.

That first Z1 tram was built by Comeng in 1975. A total of one hundred of the 16 metre, 48 seaters entered service over the next three years. In November 2012 that first tram is seen alongside Melbourne Cathedral on Swanston Street on the 67 to Carnegie.
