Revisiting the city in late June 2017 coincided with the 150th anniversary of the formation of the Canadian State with Saturday July 1st being "Canada Day" and the destination on 8043 reflects the pending celebration. As cn be seen the weekend was not blessed with the best of weather for the height of summer and the Saturday morning was met with torrential rain rendering the conditions on the lawns of the Parliament buildings - where a concert was scheduled with HRH Prince Charles in attendance - reminiscent of a Glastonbury Festival.

As part of the celebrations buses were free on Saturday 1st July and OC Transpo did an amazing job with buses performing rush hour schedules all day long as this view imparts seen from opposite Nordstrom on the Mackenzie King Bridge as Enviro500 8009 leads a never ending string of rigid and srticulated singledeckers headed by New Flyer Invero 4494.

Sunday services the following day were met with quieter conditions and better weather. The big difference between 2014 and 2017 was that doubledecker buses did all day shifts and were not confined to peak period operation, otherwise 8063 would have been enjoying a Sabbath rest!
