Burtons was a coach operator acquired by Tellings Golden Miller, whose livery it adopted, which then expanded into bus operation. Hence this Mercedes Vario with Plaxton Beaver 2 body is seen with the throngs of buses in Cambridge. |
Believed to be at Heathrow Aitport in June 2010 was Plaxton Beaver 2 bodied Mercedes O814D 137 (YM55RRY). The bus later passed to Wardle Transport. |
Seen in east London is this Plaxton Paramount 3500 on Volvo B10M chassis, XSU913, on hire to National Express.
|
Another XSU913! In fact the mark has also been seen on a Bova Futura and an ECW bodied Olympian to name but two. This time the registration has been passed on to a former Red & White Leyland Tiger with Plaxton Paramount 3200 Express coachwork. The coach has also passed on to MK Metro ownership and is seen in the Winterhill depot yard in Milton Keynes. At the time (April 2002) it was the only coach in the MK Metro fleet. The sign in the window betrays its use on rail replacement services, doubtless it has been used alongside the ex Bedwas & Machen lowbridge Titan PD3/Massey of MK, PAX466F, which was known to see use on rail work! |
Burtons did some work for the tour operator Travelsphere and this Plaxton Premier bodied Volvo B10M is appropriately painted in their colours. The W700BCL registration and the Burtons logo atop the windscreen give clear indication of ownership however. What is not so immediately obvious is that the picture was taken on Barcelona sea front in June 2002.
