Older vehicles are beng given the AT Metro navy livery too as seen on Designline bodied MAN 12.223 52 (AUM737) with the Ferry Building behind. The blind proudly displays "Birkenhead Transport Est 1933" as the company proudly clings to its heritage if not its livery. Also in the background is Ritchies's BCI Citirider 645 (JYE919), used with its Optare Spectra on the City Explorer Hop On-Hop Off tour.

A major change for Birkenhead Transport in 2017 was the acquisition of a batch of six Alexander Dennis Enviro500 doubledeckers. More followed in 2018 together with the tri-axle stretched version of the Enviro200MMC, the Enviro200XLB, the first of which arrived in 2017, 31 (LAK559), marking a major change in vehicle purchasing policy. Seen in November 2017 at Victoria Park is BT85 (KPN233). Unlike the many Enviro200 buses in New Zealand built in conjunction with Kiwi, the Enviro500 deckers are assembled at an ADL plant in Malaysia and bodywork is completed in conjunction with Zhuhai Granton. Similarly all the Enviro200MMC and XLB models are fully assembled in the UK, at least initially.

Heading into the city at Victoria Park moments earlier was Enviro500 BT80 (KKG751). Shame the deckers arrived too late to be painted in original Birkenhead livery.
