A visit to the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum south west of Pittsburgh in July 2011, found this native PCC car, 1711, built by St Louis Car Co in 1949 for Pittsburgh Railways in the sheds. Interestingly the museum is some 25 miles from Pittsburgh and on lines once used by commuters to the city. In the early days these trams used to run through some amazingly rural scenery. The current light rail is based on some former streetcar lines and track beds.
