Former RM1989 (ALD989B), 33 in the Reading Mainline fleet, entered preservation and is seen at SHOWBUS international 2001. It has passed through several owners since, being used primarily for promotional work. The bus was acquired by Mainline from Blackpool Transport, where it was 530.

Reading Mainline 33 was accompanied to SHOWBUS by former 25 (ALD990B) - RM1990 - and RM1993 in its preserved guise as Southampton 403. |

On the other side of 25 was a 'true' London Routemaster, preserved RM1840. The Mainline Rotemaster was acquired from East Yorkshire, where it was 811, but London sold it to Gash of Newark, where it was RM19, passing briefly to Lincolnshire as 1119. |

A third Reading Routemaster in preservation was RM1859 (859DYE). Routemasters RM938 and RM1989 are already illustrated. Reading Mainline 17, RM1859, is seen on May 22nd 2011 at the annual Slough Running Day. It is on the old 407 route to Cippenham, which used to be operated using green RML Routemasters. The route was one of a pair of cross town services introduced by agreement with Thames Valley and their 69 operated like the 407 from Langley, but went further west to Maidenhead.
