Reading has also altered the services in light of operational experience initially terminating alternate journeys at Heathrow Terminal 5 where Enviro400MMC 758 (YX64VRU) was seen in June 2018. The bus has had Green Line decals fitted on its generic livery. With other Reading services now serving Heathrow, the Green Line routes have reverted to their Victoria terminus on all trips. Early and late trips start and finish at Reading, effectively recreating a semblance of the London A and B services operated by the old Thames Valley.

The Royal Wedding in Windsor the previous month disrupted the services, but equally brought unprecedented demand. At St Leonards in Windsor 758 is seen again bound for Legoland whilst 759 (YY15OYA) is loading for London, with a duplicate behind. Extra staff were deployed to supervise at the stop and help passengers on their journeys. It was a happy occasion and no one was worried about minor inconveniences and Reading Buses did an excellent job.

Reading trialled a number of buses on the service and settled on the diesel powered Optare MetroDecker. This is the demonstrator, YJ16DFG, numbered 899 for its stay. It is seen in Slough Bus Station bound for Legoland in August 2019. When on trial earlier it was in blue livery. The new buses were due early in 2020 and 899 was expected to stay around for a further six months once they do. They were expected to be the first diesel MetroDeckser to enter service, all electric versions beat them into service in London and York. However with the impact of COVID the MetroDecker the much delayed order was cancelled and a trio of generic liveried Enviro400MMC buses had some siple Green Line branding added and YJ61DFG returned to Optare, mission unaccomplished.

Here is the demonstrator in its blue phase on the occasion of the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markel in Windsor. The bus was obviously on diversion from the town centre.
