Waiting at the back of the yard is 161 (TGY101M), formerly London Transport LS1, the capital's first Leyland National. It is sandwiched between ex Nottingham Renown 358, Red Rover 127 (DAU358C) and fellow ex Londoner, DMS 139 (MLK437L), once DMS437. |

Freshly painted, the first in a new - and final - version of the Red Rover livery inspired by the then British Airways scheme, 161 is about to leave the Aylesbury yard to attend the Cardiff 1985 Bus Rally. The blind is set to "Day Tour" and Traffic Manager Chris Day is behind the wheel. |

Back in Aylesbury and out earning money, 161 passes Keith Garages on the commercially operated Sunday Countrybus 22. At the wheel is jovial Red Rover inspector Tony Lawrence. |
