Alder Valley Leyland National 110
Leyland National 110 (KCG610L), when new in unrelieved NBC red. The blandness has been pepped up by a bit of artistic licence with the image. The vehicle is on layover off route 5 to Oxford at Reading's former Alder Valley Bus Station. The bus is part of the second large batch of Nationals which were registered from the Aldershot office with Hampshire registrations. The first five Nationals were Reading registered.

Alder Valley Leyland Nationals 126, 107 and 115
Lined up at the back of Maidenhead depot are three of the Nationals allocated there when new from the same batch as 110 above: 126 (KCG626L), 107 (KCG607L) and 115 (KCG615L). A little tinkering with the blinds has them all on a supposed short working of route 1 to Reading as far as Knowl Hill. The VR has the same destination. The short working occured only once a year on the occasion of the Knowl Hill Steam Rally.

Alder Valley Leyland National 127
This picture of 127 (KCG627L) is much later in its life and the bus is seen in its final guise with Alder Valley. The venue is the 2003 Cobham Open Day.

Trent Leyland National 419
The 2003 picture may have been 127's final guise with Alder Valley, but it went on to a new life with Trent as their 419. It has been preserved as such and is seen here at a special event n Burton-on-Trent to celebrate 90 years of the late Stevenson of Uttoxeter.

Trent
Alder Valley Leyland National 184
The change from January to August of the suffix letter on registration plates threw the system into some disarray and Alder Valley was unable to obtain registrations that matched with fleet numbers, so 184 is registered GPC733N. It is seen on the High Wycombe - Aylesbury route outside Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The route has since passed to Arriva the Shires as part of the exchanges with the Go-Ahead group's Oxford and Wycombe subsidiaries at the time of the acquisition of Motts Travel's Yellow Bus operations. In 2024 Arriva the Shires withdrew from Ayesbury and Wycombe following intense competition from Redline who now operate the route between the two towns.
