A radical departure for Reading Buses was on display in the shape of this newly delivered
long wheelbase East Lancs bodied Scania Omnidekka. The new livery is also unusual, variously
described, charcoal and beige seems most suited. The colours will be Reading's new standard,
though other buses will be colour coded to match diggerent route allocations. The new fleet
of Scanias, a departure from normal supplier, Optare, had yet to enter service in Reading.

The smallest capacity vehicle at SHOWBUS was this Land Rover Defender Postbus.

Unusually going home empty handed, Trent Barton frequently win prizes at SHOWBUS with
there well turned out modern fleet. Representing them this year was new rainbow route
branded Scania L94/Wright 649 (FN04HTV). Also departing is a late entry from Emblings,
a Plaxton Derwent bodied school bus.
