In the early days of the National Bus Company several unloved Maidstone & District Willowbrook bodied Leyland Panthers made were transferred to W&D and Hants & Dorset. This one made it into W&D Tilling Red and cream before Wilts & Dorset was merged into Hants & Dorset. Then W&D 692 (JKK203E), former M&D S103, was seen too at Newbury Wharf on the 122 to Basingstoke. |

Newly privatised Wilts & Dorset acquired several secondhand Olympians. This Roe bodied example in Poole originated with West Yorkshire PTE as 5017 (UWW17X) and is W&D 3909. It was later converted to open top.

Another secondhand acquisition included several double and singledeck DAF buses from the Manchester based Wall firm, which went out of business. Ikarus bodied SB220 3510 (N16WAL) is seen in Ferndown.
