This Dennis Dart has an interesting history. It was new in 1995 to Hong Kong Citybus as a dual purpose 39 seater with air conditioning - note the pod on the roof - 1403 (GM5868). Stagecoach owned Citybus for a while and brought some of the batch of Darts into the UK and 1403 became 32444 with Stagecoach Devon, reregistered N744XDV. The bus was acquired by Red Rose Travel of Aylesbury and it is seen here in company of one of Motts Travel ex-Shearings Alexander Belfast bodied Leyland Tigers on a school contact at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in Marlow in September 2010. The bus occasionally worked the 275 route from Wycombe to Oxford and concern was expressed by Stagecoach Oxford about the bus still being in Stagecoach livery. |
This April 2011 shot in the Red Rose yard shows 32444 repainted in Red Rose livery alongside another Stagecoach acquisition, Alexander Dash bodied Dennis Dart, new to Busways in Newcastle as 1772, though it came to Red Rose by way of Stagecoach in Cambridge. |
Ex Devon General 211 (E211BDV), a Mellor bodied Ford Transit of Pete's Travel turned up at SHOWBUS 2003. The livery is more akin to that of Stevensons of Uttoxeter. |
