The X40 Reading - Oxford service was christened "River Rapids" and given a special blue based livery. Alexander Dennis Enviro400 252 (HW63FHD) is seen in Reading in January 2022. The bus was intened to be Southern Vectis 1582 but entered service in their two tone green livery with Oxford on a special service for Chiltern Railways between Bicester Town Station and Oxford, pending completion of the reinstatement of the line to Bicester and on to London. The bus was one of a number diverted from Go South Coast fleets, some were temporary and went to their intended new homes in due course, but 252 was one which stayed. After further service in Oxford in Southern Vectis green it was transferred to Thames Travel for the "rapids" service.
