State Transit Clyde Engineering L/P class 154
Clyde Engineering car 154 was built in 1900 and has been with the Museum Collection since 1957. It was originally an F class tram rebuilt to L class in 1910, and later L/P class in 1926. Seen in the Museum in August 2002, it is representative of trams that worked on the Newcastle system.

Sydney Clyde Engineering R1 class tram 1971
Offering public rides in August 2002 was another Clyde Engineering tram, R1 class car 1971 of 1936. The tram was retired when the trams system closed in 1961 and has since been placed on loan to the St Kilda Tram Museum near Adelaide.

Sister vehicle 1979 was also built in 1936, but acquired in 1974. The R1 class followed on from multi doored R class trams with cross benches - the R1 trams were known as corridor trams because of their long saloons.
