Just above the driver's cab a plane is coming into land, giving a clue to the location of Metro Bus New Flyer 5134: the LAX Transit Center in January 2001. These high floor buses entered service at the turn of the century and followed on from the Neoplan deliveries. The C40HF New Flyer models total over 200 in the Metro Bus fleet.

A Culver City CNG powered New Flyer low floor bus slides by another Metro Bus high floor model at LAX. Whereas the Culver bas stores the gas in tanks on the roof Metro's C40 models store the CNG in tanks under the roof.

With a big match on, Metro Bus joins in the excitement with "Go Lakers" flashing in between the normal destination of New Flyer C40HF 5215 at LAX on January 6th 2001.

A very wet day at the LAX Transit Center in early October 2011 saw New Flyer C40 5219, which had been repainted in the new Metro Local orange livery. The last of the batch was retired almost three years later. |
