Route 12 between Aldershot and Reading was for many years a joint operation with Thames Valley, which, like Aldershot & District, tagged itself very quaintly as a "Traction Company". When the National Bus Company forced the two operations together to form Alder Valley route 12 was about all the two companies had in common. Vehicle wise Thames Valley had the Bristol Lodekka and A&D the version built under license by Dennis, the Loline, like this 1964 Weymann bodied Loline III 485 (485KOT) seen at Reading Station in the sixties. When privatisation loomed the companies were separated again with Aldershot & District becoming Alder Valley South and reverting to a two tone gren livery. Ultimately the neither half was sustainable and the operations shattered into pieces picked up by First, Reading Buses, Go-Ahead, Arriva and Stagecoach.

Not at the same Woburn Showbus, but 506 (AAA506C) is seen receiving a prize from Lord Tavistock in front of the Abbey.
