Metrobus 193 (LMO193X) was painted in an old livery style at the turn of the year to celebrate the centenary of municipal transport in Reading. It is seen at the 2002 Cobham Rally.

With the uncertainty over the Titan's future (as production was switched around the country), Reading bought a few Olympians. However, when the opportunity to purchase surplus Mark 2 Metrobuses from London Buses's Harrow Buses scheme, when still quite new, it was clearly an advantage having large numbers of the Mark 1 Metrobuses still in the fleet. This is believed to be 456 (E456SON), London Buses M1456. Note the Birmingham registration, the vehicles being originally registered by MCW before delivery to London, in those days non London registrations in the capital were a rarity, let alone 27 of them.
