Reading Buses has enjoyed good passenger growth and took the opportunity to acquire some good secondhand doubledeckers to increase capacity. Birmingham based Pete's Travel disposed of its fleet of Plaxton President bodied Dennis Tridents which it had purchased in 2001. Two of them are seen in Reading in early 2004 with 472 (PO51WNG) in front. |
Reading 473 is seen again a few few months later heading off service, about to turn into the Great Knolly Street depot. It is followed by a Spectra, but a Red Rose Solo will be noted parked on the left. |
Another view of 472 at work in the town centre in Spring 2004.

On the same day Trident 474 (PO51WNM) was also seen at work in the town centre.
