The first Renown to be painted in the Nottingham inspired livery, by then common place on the Nationals and DMS buses in the fleet, was 127. Here it is specially posed outside the Five Bells in Weston Turville, not somewhere you would normally find a Red Rover bus.

In common with the DMS doubledeckers, the Renowns received some eye catching hand painted advertisements on both sides for the firm's multiple activities. Day trips to France are being promoted on 127 seen again being used as a one man bus on the 9 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Haydon Hill could be displayed on the blind as the school days only route 5 took a meandering route there, hence the 5 on the blind too. Often the 0833 route 9 from the hospital into town would have a conductor on board if it were a Renown or a DMS. The first route 2 from Buckingham into Aylesbury, arriving 0820 would be very busy and needed a conductor, invariably conductress Cathy Foot, she would stay on board as the bus dodged down to the hospital to do another busy run, the 0833 Linkline through to Haydon Hill, without Cathy on board the bus would have run late, so Red Rover scored over the competition, United Counties's 355.

Another one off one man day out for 127 was a turn on the 71, a market day service linking villages from Dagnall to Leighton Buzzard.
