As the nearside hand painted ads on 127 show, associated Keith Garages, was the local Audi and VW dealer, so unsurprisingly Red Rover acquired three of the Volkswagen LT based Optare City Pacer 25 seat stylish minibuses for new services started at deregulation in October 1986. The three were not ready in time so Optare lent a couple of demonstrators in the meantime of which C555LMW was one. The other was in a less appropriate blue livery. They were primarily used on Tring to Chesham services 94 and 49 as well as 27, the Tring town service, but were used on services across the network, where appropriate.
