Metrobus' first big batch of new doubledeckers were all Leyland Olympians bought, as seen here, for the 261. Prior to their delivery the mainstay of the doubledeck fleet were ex London DMS Fleetlines. |
In its early days the company was always up for a good secondhand acquisition and former West Yorkshire PTE 5066 (CUB66Y) was a suitable alternative to a DMS on the 61. |
All Leyland Olympian 807 (H807XMY) had been transferred from London contracts down to Sussex to end its service days with Metrobus. It is seen at Showbus international 2001. |
This pair of Metrobus all Leyland Olympians has been preserved. They head an Olympian line up at SHOWBUS 2011. Nearest the camera is 806 (G806TMX) which was used widely to publicise the Olympian Olympic tribute at SHOWBUS the following year. Alongside is 395 (C395DML). |
