The oldest bus in the Museum's collection is this 1924 North American Ruggles. It was bodied in Australia by Syd Wood and entered service with Riley Brothers in 1925 for use on the Central Coast until 1946. It was used as a mobile shop around Newcastle for a while and found in derelict condition before joining the Museum collection. In this view it is under a protective tarpaulin. |

The bus is seen, minus tarpaulin, at the new Liechhardt Museum in November 2016. Museum volunteers had worked on the Hercules engine and other parts so that L32.652 was able to make the journey from Tempe to Leichhardt under its own power.
