Spectras, 51 and 52 (X151/2LBJ) rest at the depot on a Saturday morning in late August 2005.
|
The fourth Spectra, 50 (P442SWX), DELIGHT, was in the new livery and in service as seen in the Tower Ramparts Bus Station on route 9. The third Spectra, 53 (X153LBJ), was seen in Park & Ride livery. This one off was originally intended for export to Turkey to join other Spectras with IETT in Instanbul, but the order was cancelled, so perhaps 50 is more of a TURKISH DELIGHT! |
The Spectra is basically an Optare body on a DAF DB250 chassis, so it was an easy switch to East Lancs bodied DAF deckers, but a different move to having the East Lancs body on a Scania Omnidekka. This picture has the DAF on the left and the Scania on the right.

Passengers wait to board Scania N94UD Omnidekka 61 (PJ54YZU), ROBERT RANSOME, as it sits at the route 10 stop by the exit to the Tower Ramparts Bus Station. |
