After using ancient AEC semicoaches on the South Midland London services, Oxford South Midland upped the game with a batch of coach seated Bristol VR - a possible forerunner to the decker operation on the Tube. The vehicles were in the vanguard of the NBC local coach livery - a shame they did not arrive earlier to see a version of South Midland maroon and cream. This is 106 (NUD106L) seen in Langley when new.

The coaches ended their days relegated to bus work, poor 103 (NUD103L), seen at the Carfax, was desecrated as an allover advertisement for once high profile TV rental company, Rediffusion.
