 After using ancient AEC semicoaches on the South Midland London services, Oxford South Midland upped the game with a batch of coach seated Bristol VR - a possible forerunner to the decker operation on the Tube. The vehicles were in the vanguard of the NBC local coach livery - a shame they did not arrive earlier to see a version of South Midland maroon and cream. This is 106 (NUD106L) seen in Langley when new.

 Seen a few years later after repaint, what might be 104 is seen in Oxford, but not on London servces.

 The coaches ended their days relegated to bus work, poor 103 (NUD103L), seen at the Carfax, was desecrated as an allover advertisement for once high profile TV rental company, Rediffusion.

 One of the batch, 105 (NUD105L), has been preserved in its full glory. It was first seen by our camera in May 2011 at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre's Quainton Bus Rally, the home to SHOWBUS from 2024. |
