DMS at Showbus 80
A monochrome view of the Showbus 80 DMS line up at Thorpe Park, where a themed feature celebrated the DMS revival as hoards of rejected London vehicles found grateful new owners the length of the country.

Oxford South Midland Daimler Fleetline MCW 994
Before the two halves of Oxford South Midland were split as part of the privatisation process of the National Bus Company a number of MCW bodied Daimler Fleetline DMS was acquired for the city, retaining their dual doors, which were already common place across the fleet. Most were used on the city's Park & Ride services if not immediately then later on in this very non-NBC livery. This is 994 (JGU275K), formerly DMS1275. It spent five years with its new owner.

Others acquired standard NBC poppy red with white relief. Former DMS1267 (JGU267K) spent its seven year stint in London working out of Bromley depot. Numbered 992 in Oxford it is seen loading in the High Street and heading from the city centre. Interestingly it was sold in 1984 to Ebdons of Sidcup, but only as a source of spares, it passed through Wigleys to Bristol Engineering - again for spares - and was at a scrap merchants in Yorkshire within two months of leaving Oxford.

Former Midland Red 5276 (5276HA) of 1963 was tranferred to Oxford South Midland in NBC days for Park & Ride duties as their 920 and given a "Starsky & Hutch" livery in the days before Stagecoach appeared on the scene. It is seen with Duple Dominant bodied Leyland Leopard 14 (YFC14R) in Gloucester Green on the London service with an Heyfordian Plaxton bodied coach in the background.
