Oxford squeezed more buses into the Aylesbury depot of United Counties notjust for the 262 Aylesbury town service, but also for the 260 Aylesbury - Thame route for which single door ECW bodied Bristol VRTSL6G 436 (OUD436M) has its blind set. Alongside is 440 (JWL993N), another one door bus, which appears to be Aylesbury based for a Cowley Works contract.

A Sunday visit to ECW's Lowesfoft factory in early 1978 found many buses finished and awaiting delivery. The first two dual door green buses are Bristol Omnibus C5118/7 (RHT512/1S), but the far green one is unidentified. The first red VRTSL3 is Eastern Counties VR201 (WPW201S) with West Riding 790 (XWU339S) alongside. The next red VR is a dual door bus for City of Oxford 479 (HUD479S). A second Oxford VR is partially visible at the far end beyond an unidentified Bristol LH.
